What else can you help me with?

We also compare Water & Waste — more savings you might be missing. Most businesses focus on energy but overlook water and waste costs. We work with specialist suppliers in both areas and can often find significant savings that go straight back into your business. Ask us about it when we're in touch.

Frequently asked questions
What is an LOA ?

An LOA ( letter of authority ) allows us to find information from your current supplier such as usage and contract end date. If we arrange the switch we can use this to inform the supplier.

Do you arrange the switch of supplier ?

Yes we deal with everything. Once you are happy with your new rates you can sit back and relax and we will take care of the rest.

What support do you offer ?

We don't just arrange the new supply and disappear like some brokers.

If you ever have any queries or questions then we deal with the supplier on your behalf ( no more sitting on hold )

Do you offer any other services ?

Yes- we also work with waste and water suppliers and can help save you money there.

Will switching interrupt my supply?

No. Switching supplier is purely a billing and contractual change - the electricity, gas or water reaching your premises is exactly the same. There's no interruption and no disruption to your business.

Do I have to wait until my current contract ends?

Not necessarily. Many business contracts can be arranged ahead of time so your new rate is locked in and ready to start the day your current deal expires. It's worth getting in touch well before your renewal date so you don't roll onto expensive out-of-contract rates.

Why use a broker instead of going direct?

A broker compares the whole market for you in one go, rather than you contacting suppliers one at a time. We know which suppliers suit different business types, we handle the negotiation and paperwork, and we manage the switch - saving you time as well as helping you avoid overpaying.

Do you only work with businesses on Anglesey?

We work with businesses across Anglesey, including Holyhead, and right across North Wales and into the North West of England. Wherever you're based, we can compare your utility costs and manage your switch.

Business energy on Anglesey: what island businesses need to know

Anglesey trades differently to most of the mainland, and energy contracts written for a nine-to-five town centre business rarely suit it. Hospitality in Beaumaris, Menai Bridge, Benllech, Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay runs hot through the summer and quiet through the winter. Holiday parks and visitor attractions follow the same curve. Farms and food producers have steady year-round loads with heavy plant. Around Holyhead there is port, freight and marine activity on a different rhythm again. Each of those shapes gets priced differently by suppliers, so the headline unit rate on a comparison table tells you very little on its own.

Seasonal trading and the standing charge trap

If your business closes or winds down out of season, remember the daily standing charge keeps running whether the doors are open or not. Over a quiet winter that alone can be a meaningful cost, and it is one of the reasons seasonal businesses should be comparing the standing charge as carefully as the unit rate. Estimated readings are the other seasonal issue: a supplier that estimates a closed site as if it were trading can build up a bill that takes months to unpick. Getting accurate reads in before a renewal makes a real difference to the quotes you are offered.

Off the gas grid

Large parts of rural Anglesey are not connected to the mains gas network, so many businesses here rely on LPG, oil or electric heating instead. If that is you, electricity is doing more of the work and the electricity contract carries more weight. Where mains gas is available on the island it is transported through the Wales and West Utilities network, while electricity is distributed across the Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales region by SP Energy Networks. Those regional network charges make up a large share of the final bill, which is why we compare the full delivered cost rather than just the rate.

Rural supplies and capacity

Rural and semi-rural premises on the island are more likely to be on single-phase supplies, and businesses adding kitchen equipment, workshop plant, heat pumps or EV charging sometimes find capacity is the constraint rather than price. It is worth checking what your supply can actually carry before committing to new equipment, and worth reviewing agreed capacity on larger sites in case you are paying for headroom you no longer use.

Why Anglesey businesses end up overpaying

Timing, as everywhere. When a fixed contract lapses without a replacement, supply moves onto out-of-contract or deemed rates, typically the most expensive a supplier offers. Rollovers catch others out, as does accepting a renewal offer without testing it against the wider market. Businesses running more than one site across the island, or across Anglesey and the North Wales mainland, usually find their contract end dates have drifted apart, which costs more than the unit rate does.

How to get started

Send us a recent bill, or just your business name and postcode, and we can usually pull your usage and contract end date ourselves. We compare 15+ suppliers, come back with the options laid out plainly, and handle the switch with both your old and new supplier. Prefer to talk it through first? Call 0151 541 6767.
